Welcome to the USA ARDF Championships web site. The Championships have officially been scheduled from May 21st to May 23rd, 2010 near Cincinnati, Ohio. Event sponsors include the Cincinnati Orienteering Group, OH-KY-IN Amateur Radio Society, and the Los Angeles Orienteering Club.

  • 5/25/2010 - Results have been updated.
     
  • 5/24/2010 - Opps - There are some problems with the result pages.  Will fix tomorrow.
     
  • 5/24/2010 - Many thanks to all our competitors. Results for both events can be found on the results page. Expect pictures to be published as collected.
     
  • 5/24/2010 - USA Uniforms - Vadin Afonkin Writes - They are in transit between 
    Norway and US, stuck somewhere, once US Orienteering will get them, We 
    will get them as well.
     
  • Model Event - 232 (Approximate) Western Drive, Oxford, OH - Take US 73 west into Oxford, Miami Campus. At the light turn south, left. First street on the left is Western Drive.
     
  • 5/17/2010 - Training Camp - Directions. Banquet - Saturday, 6:30 PM at Applebees 3420 Towne Blvd, Middletown, OH
     
  • 5/15/2010 - Orienteering Opportunity - The Cincinnati orienteering Group (OCIN) will be hosting one of it's Summer Fast-O events on Wednesday May 19th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. There will be two short sprint type courses. Compete retails are at www.ocin.org. Look under schedule.
     
  • 5/13/2010 - MAPS - Both maps will be 11 x 17 at 1 x 10,000 scale. 2M is landscape, 80M is portait.
     
  • 5/12/2010 - MAPS - All training maps and 2M event maps have been printed.  The 2M event map will be 11 x 17 inches, landscape. You should be able to fold about 4 to 5 inches of the left and right edges under..
     
  • 5/11/2010 - Updates - By now all registered competitors should have received contact information. Those attending the training sessions should have received directions to all the practice parks. 
     
  • 5/6/2010 - Terrain Update: Just finished setting the 2M course and there area lot of fallen trees on the course both on the trails and in the woods. Be prepared!
     
  • 5/1/2010 - Registration deadline is closing in. Hotel - Note that the street off of OH-122 is Towne Blvd. Weather - May weather in Cincinnati can run between 60 with rain to 80 and humid. Terrain - Expect undergrowth to be at it's peak. Wild roses, thorns, nettles, poison ivy and poison oak are common. The use of long pants, gators, and a sleeved shirt are recommended.
     
  • 4/20/2010 - Updates - Registrations continue to be received as do inquiries about the training camp. To Date, four first time competitors have registered and more have shown interest.
     
  • 3/25/2010 - Registration will remain open until the week before the competition. However, registrations received after April 30th will not be guaranteed a T-Shirt or Mug as orders for these items need to placed early.
     
  • 3/25/2010 - Sponsors - Gold level sponsors need to provide graphics and payment no later than April 30th in order to be included on the T-Shirt.
     
  • 3/1/2010 - Veuues - Permits for all six venues have been approved. The location for Thursday morning training has been changed. Details for the 2M and 80M maps will be posted soon. The number of training camp participants continues to grow.
     
  • 2/5/2010 - Training Camp - Check the link for details. We have a full schedule of events for beginner and advanced competitors.
     
  • 1/18/2010 - Hotel: The information on the Championships hotel has been posted.  Please check the Hotels/Travel link for details.
     
  • 1/10/2010 - It may not be clear on the entry form but please include your T-shirt size. Thanks
     
  • 1/10/2010 - Training Camp: Training Camp is a go. We are planning a wide variety of events on May 19th and 20th.  Please eMail WA6EZV@ARRL.NET if you plan on attending.
     
  • 1/6/2010 - Registration for the 2010 US ARDF Championships is now open.  Forms are available on the Registration page.
     
  • 1/3/2010 - We will adhere to the new Region I rules as posted on the rules page. Note that new categories for W60 and M70 have been added. The venues for the competitions have been secured. Two park areas have been embargoed. We are investigating hotels in the area and will provide information in the next few weeks.
     
  • 11/06/2009 - If there is enough interest we are prepared to host a two day training event on May 19th and 20th. If interested please send an email to WA6EZV@ arrl.net. At this time this is only a tentative event.
     
  • 10/28/2009 -  The Dayton Hamvention is the weekend before the ARDF competition. If you are planning on attending, try to schedule time to attend the Foxhunt/ARDF forum and foxhunt. More news later on time and date.
